     FLU SHOTS HAVE ARRIVED!

It is now time to get your Flu Vaccination for the upcoming flu season.  Acadiana Urgent Care Center is once again offering both injections and intranasal mist spray vaccines.  The vaccine covers 3 different strains of flu, including the H1N1 virus.  The injections can be administered to patients beginning at age 4 years, and the mist can be used on patients aged 2 years-49 years old.  Recommendations for annual influenza vaccination include everyone aged 6 months and older.  If your child is under 8 years old and has never been vaccinated, 2 vaccine doses one month apart are recommended. Patients at high risk from serious flu complications include young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease, and people 65 years and older.  Flu injections are $30.00. and FluMist is $40.00.  If your insurance provider is Blue Cross, United, Humana, Aetna, or Medicare, the cost of a flu vaccine should be covered, and there should be no out of pocket expense.  Other insurances may also cover the cost of the vaccine.  More information about seasonal flu can be found at www.flu.gov .

For your convenience, Acadiana Urgent Care Center is open everyday, including all holidays.  Upcoming holiday hours are as follows:  Labor Day, September 6, 9AM-9PM.
